The Rainy Night Building, pastel, 9 x 12", 2016. As part of being the Artist In Residence at the Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo, NY, Koch has been traveling to Buffalo to paint in locations that were sources for the watercolorist Charles Burchfield. Koch did this pastel of a building in downtown Buffalo that was the subject of Burchfield most famous painting Rainy Night.

 

Philip Koch has been awarded an unprecedented 16th residency in Edward Hopper's former painting studio in S.Truro, MA on Cape Cod.
